Oil is the main source of damping in suspension. This oil, after a certain amount of time, breaks down and the damping is greatly reduced. This is a result of heat friction and pressure and is known as shearing.
The first sign of this is when your suspension fades, perhaps after a few laps of a race and your bike doesn't seem as stable or as controlled as it was.
At MH Racing a Major Service includes replacement of all high wear parts as necessary such as seals, bushes and o'rings. The tolerances of main shock body, fork tubes and springs are checked and finally reassembled using only the same high quality fluids as would be used in a Minor Service.
